Catalytic converter
Catalytic converter
This motorcycle is equipped with a three-way
catalytic converter. The catalytic converter contains
precious metals that serve as catalysts in the high-
temperature chemical reactions that convert the
hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO) and
nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the engine exhaust into
safe compounds.
A defective catalytic converter contributes to
air pollution, and can impair your engine's
performance. A replacement unit must be an
original Montesa part or its equivalent.
Follow these recommendations to protect your
motorcycle's catalytic converter.

Always use unleaded petrol. Petrol containing
lead will damage the catalytic converter.

Keep the engine in good operating condition.

If you observe that your motorcycle engine
experiences ignition malfunctions, sputters, stalls
or otherwise does not operate properly, stop,
turn off the engine and have the motorcycle
inspected.
