Safe from finger touch A switching device is said to be safe from finger touch
when the electrically live parts cannot be touched when
the actuating elements are being operated. This is true also
for the operation of adjoining switching devices. The safe
from finger touch area of pressure operated electrical
equipment is a circle around the actuating element with a
minimum radius of 30 mm vertical to the operating facility.
Within this circle, parts that are dangerous to touch are
permitted to be arranged at a depth of at least 80 mm
below the operating level.
