Pantograph usage and handling good
practices
It is found that following good practices, if
adapted, makes considerable effect on
functioning and durability of pantograph
- Follow proper light orientation while mounting
lights on pantograph (as explained earlier)
- Keep pantograph in shortened form when lights
are not in use.
- Use locking lever for shortening the pantograph.
If the pantograph is often shortened without lifting
the locking lever, the levermaygetdamagedover
longer period of time.
- Never pull down pantograph without pressing
the locking lever. If more load is applied without
pressing locking lever, it may deform pantograph
structure and hamper its functionality.
- See that while sliding the pantograph its body
cage should not bend on side-ways. This again
might deform the pantograph structure and
hamper its functionality.
- While sliding pantograph on the sliding track,
push/pull it from bottom and center position as
shown in adjoining diagram.
- Clean the pantograph atleast 2-3 times a week.
