13. Fine-tuning the transmitter
Once you have performed the basic settings and programmed the transmitter, you can now fine-tune your model.
a) Setting of the digital steering trim
Digital trimming enables you to precisely adjust the central position of the steering servo. Thus you can set your model
to drive absolutely straight. To do this, drive your model car on a smooth and even surface and do not make any
steering movements.
If the model is pulling toward the left, set the trim button "DT 1" (also see illustration
1, pos. 3) for digital trimming to the right. Repeat this process until your model
drives straight.
If the model is pulling towards the right, you trim it towards the left.
The last set value is saved automatically. If you do not press a button for more
than one minute, the display returns to the operating mode display.
After you have determined the required value, keep adjusting the steering linkages
until your model drives straight and the steering trimming value is back to 0 or to
a very low correction value.
Our tip:
Your model car drives perfectly straight when you set a slight toe-in. To do so,
adjust the steering link so that both front wheels steer slightly inward.
b) Setting the digital drive trimming
In the same way as is possible for digital steering trimming, you can adjust the
central position (stop position) for the operating lever for the drive function
electronically.
In doing so, it does not play a role whether you use an electronic drive control or
a servo that operates the carburettor of a combustion engine or a mechanical
drive control. The setting of the digital drive trim is always the same.
According to demand, you can set the central position of the connected servo or
the drive control in such a way with the trim button "DT 2" (see ill. 1, pos. 16) that
an electric motor in the model is always turned off properly, or that a combustion
motor works cleanly while idling.
"F" indicates forward, and "B" indicates backward.
The last set value is saved automatically.
If you do not press a button for more than one minute, the display returns to the
operating mode display.
