Programming
a) Programming of Full Throttle and Neutral Positions
For programming the full throttle positions for forward/reverse driving and the neutral position,
proceed as follows:
• Switch on the transmitter, but leave the throttle/brake in the neutral position. Put the trimming
for driving into the centre position
• Switch on the receiver power supply if it is performed via a separate receiver battery. If this is
not the case, you need to connect the driving battery to the speed controller as well.
• Keep the setup button pressed and turn the speed controller on. Press and hold the setup
button until the orange LED comes on (about 4 seconds). Then release the setup button.
• Move the throttle/brake lever into full throttle for forward driving (pull the throttle all the way
towards the handle) and keep it there.
The red LED flashes for about 2-3 seconds and then is lit permanently.
If this is not the case and the red LED only flashes when you move to the full throttle
position reverse (throttle lever away from the handle), you need to set the reverse
switch for the driving function at your transmitter to „Reverse“. Switch off the speed
controller and start speed controller programming again.
• The motor emits a sound signal. The full throttle position for forward driving is stored.
The sound signal is generated because the brushless motor is activated for a moment.
Depending on the motor, this sound signal may be very low or inaudible. In this case, observe
the LED on the speed controller.
• Move the throttle/brake lever into full throttle for reverse driving (push the throttle away from the
handle all the way) and keep it there.
The orange LED flashes for 2-3 seconds and then is lit permanently. The motor emits two sound
signals. The full throttle position for reverse driving is stored.
• Release the throttle/brake so that it sits in the neutral position.
The red LED and the orange LED flash at the same time for about 2-3 seconds and go out then.
The motor emits three sound signals. The neutral position is now saved.
• Switch the speed controller off; the programming is complete and stored now.
If you switch on the speed controller now, the speed controller is ready for operation with the
settings made above. In this case, the orange LED remains lit.
b) Programming the Special Functions
The speed controller is pre-programmed with the best settings (e.g. motor timing, starting mode,
etc.).
This programming can be changed with a programming card available as an accessory (Conrad
item no.: 517034).
The programming card is not part of the delivery. It must be ordered separately. All
special functions and their programming are described in the operating instructions
for the programming card.
Operating Information
Note:
• When switching between forward and reverse driving, the throttle lever must be put in neutral
position briefly (approx. 2 seconds).
If the throttle lever is shifted directly from forwards to reverse, the speed controller’s brake will
be activated (the vehicle will NOT go backwards!).
• If the driving function or brake function is opposite to the movement of the throttle lever at the
transmitter, activate the reverse function at the transmitter or swap any two of the three motor
cables.
• The speed controller is only ready to run when the orange LED remains lit and the motor has
signalled a sound sequence. If this is not the case (red and orange LED remain lit), throttle
trimming at the transmitter is mis-adjusted in most cases, or neutral position must be re-
programmed.
• The orange LED on the speed controller flashes to signal overtemperature of the speed
controller (see „technical data“). In this case, stop driving at once and check, e.g. the
transmission of the drive and the function of the fan on the speed controller.
• If the red LED flashes, the speed controller recognised undervoltage of the vehicle battery. In
this case, stop driving at once and charge the vehicle battery.
End of Operation
• First switch off the speed controller (put switch in the „OFF“ position).
• Disconnect the battery from the speed controller.
• Now switch off the transmitter.
