PIPE INSTALLATION
(1) Apply engine oil to the roller and the O-ring of the fuel
pump.
(2) Insert the fuel pump in the mounting hole on the cylinder
head, and lightly tighten four bolts (a little more strongly
than you tighten them with fingers).
(3) Install the backup rings and the O-rings on both ends
of the fuel pipe. Install the backup ring (thicker one) with
the inside cut surface facing the direction shown in the
illustration.
(4) Apply spindle oil or gasoline to the O-rings on both ends
of the pipe.
(5) Insert the fuel pipe straight in the mounting hole on the
fuel pump. When the fuel pipe is inserted, use care not
to twist it and insert as far as it goes.
(6) Tighten the bolts on both ends of the pipe to the specified
torque.
(7) Using the torque wrench (minimum scale 0.5 Nm), tighten
the fuel pump mounting bolts by the following procedure.
1. Tighten the bolts to 4.9 Nm in the order as shown.
2. Tighten the bolts to 17 Nm in the order as shown.
The torque variation of the four bolts should be within
2 Nm.
Caution
Observe the tightening order. Failure to observe the
specified torques and tightening order will cause
leakage, etc.
