Dual pressure switch system

Probable cause

The cause is probably a defective dual pressure switch circuit or a defective

engine-A/T-ECU.

Malfunction of the dual pressure switch

Malfunction of connector

Malfunction of A/C system

Malfunction of the engine-A/T-ECU

*: Refer to ’96 COLT/LANCER Workshop Manual (Pub. No. PWME9511).

Replace

Replace the engine-A/T-ECU.

Repair

Dual pressure switch check

(Refer to GROUP 55 - On-vehicle service.)*

Check the voltage of the engine-A/T-ECU connector B-92.

Disconnect the connector and check at the harness side.

Ignition switch: ON

A/C switch: ON

Voltage between terminal No. 123 and earth

OK:

System voltage

Check the following connectors:

B-38, B-92

Check the trouble symptoms.

Check the A/C system. (Refer to GROUP 55 - Troubleshooting.)*

Check the following connector:

Harness check

Between the engine-A/T-ECU and the vehicle speed sensor

connector.

Measure at the vehicle speed sensor connector A-60.

Disconnect the connector, and measure at the harness side.

(1) Voltage between 1 and earth (Ignition switch: ON)

OK:

System voltage

(2) Voltage between 3 and earth (Ignition switch: ON)

4.8 - 5.2 V

(3) Continuity between 2 and earth

Check the following connector:
