A/C switch and A/C relay system
Probable cause
When an A/C ON signal is input to the engine-ECU <M/T> or engine-A/T-ECU <A/T>,
the engine-ECU <M/T> or engine-A/T-ECU <A/T> carries out control of the idle speed
control (ISC) servo, and also operates the A/C compressor magnetic clutch.

Check the A/C compressor relay.

Measure at the engine-ECU connector B-37 <M/T> or the
engine-A/T-ECU connector B-95 <A/T>.

Disconnect the connector, and measure at the harness side.

Voltage between 8 <Vehicles with immobilizer system for M/T>,
22 <Vehicles without immobilizer system for M/T>, 21 <Vehicles
with immobilizer system for A/T>, 20 <Vehicles without
immobilizer system for A/T>, and earth, and 21 <M/T>, 18 <A/T>
and earth
(Ignition switch: ON)

0 - 3 V (A/C switch: OFF)
System voltage (A/C switch: ON)

Short circuit between 8 <Vehicles with immobilizer system for
M/T>, 22 <Vehicles without immobilizer system for M/T>, 21
<Vehicleswith immobilizer system for A/T>,20 <Vehicleswithout
immobilizer system for A/T> and earth
(Ignition switch: ON, A/C switch: ON)
OK:
A/C compressor clutch turns on.

Check the A/C system. (Refer to GROUP 55 - Troubleshooting.)

Check the trouble symptom.

Replace the engine-ECU <M/T> or engine-A/T-ECU <A/T>.

Ignition circuit system
Probable cause
The engine-ECU <M/T> or engine-A/T-ECU <A/T> interrupts the ignition coil primary
current by turning the power transistor inside the engine-ECU <M/T> or engine-A/T-ECU
<A/T> ON and OFF.
