instal led in areas e xposed to steam, vo latile oil (i ncluding m achi ne oil), or
sulfur ic g as, areas e xposed to hi gh salt content su ch as the seaside, the
performa nce c an be s igni fica ntly reduced and the i nte rn al part s can be
damaged.

•W hen the room humidity ex ceeds 80% or when the drainpipe is clogged,
water ma y drip from th e indoor unit. Do not inst all the indoo r unit w here such
drippin g can cause damage.
•W hen installi ng the unit i n a hospita l or comm unic ation s o ffi ce, be prep ared
for nois e and el ectroni c in ter ference. In ver ters, hom e a ppl ian ces, high-
frequency medical e qu ipm ent, and ra dio comm unicat ions equip ment can
cause the a ir c on ditio ner to malfu nct ion or break down. T he air condi tioner
may also affe ct me dical equipm en t, di stur bing medi cal care , and
comm unications equi pme nt, harming the screen dis pla y quali ty.

2. Selecting the installation location
2.1. Indoor unit
•W here airflow is not blo cked .
•W here cool air sprea ds ove r the en tire r oom.
•W here it is not e xp osed to di rect sunshine.
•A t a dist ance 1 m [3-1 /4 ft] or more awa y fr om your T V an d radio (t o prevent pict ure
from bein g distorte d o r noise fr om b eing ge nerated ).
•I n a place as f ar awa y a s p ossib le from f luore scen t a nd incandescent lights ( so the
infrared remot e con trol ca n o perate t he air conditio ner norm ally).
•W here the air f ilter ca n be removed and repla ce d e asily.

Mount the in door unit in to a ceiling st rong enough to wi thstand t he we ight of
the unit.
2.2. Outd oo r unit
Refer to t he outdoor u nit in stalla tion manual .
This In stallat ion Ma nual describe s o nly f or t he indoor unit an d the conn ected
outdo or unit of PUHZ se ries.
If the conn ected ou tdoor u nit is MX Z se ries, re fer t o the Installa tion Man ual for
MXZ series.
