Connections
Use the connectors at the top
right
portion at the rear of the NV5256 frame:
on page 23 for additional information.
(The video reference does
not
lock the cards.)
If the frames in an expanded router are not clock-locked, data errors will occur when the router uses
ports across frame boundaries.
Inter-Frame Communication
At the top left portion of the rear of the NV5256 frame are two 10Base2 (BNC) connectors:
The 10Base2 connectors are used to connect two frames in an expanded router. If you have a stand-
alone router, you do not need the connectors.
If you have an expanded router, connect the primary 10Base2 connector on one frame to the pri-
mary 10Base2 connector on the other.
Do
not
connect the secondary 10Base2 connectors, even if you have a secondary control card.
