6. Inserting/removing a memory card
(not included)
Follow the instructions below to insert/remove the SD card into/from the
camera.
1. Turn the camera off first before inserting/removing the memory card.
2. Insert the SD card carefully into the SD card slot and in the correct
direction until it clicks into place.
3. To remove the card, press and release it, then pull it out slowly.
Note:
A card can only be inserted in one direction; forcing it may cause
damage. Inserting or removing a card while the camera is on may
damage the files, the card, or the camera. The memory card must be
formatted either via the camera’s MENU or with a PC before use.
7. Mode Switch (OFF/TEST/ON)
OFF: When the switch is at the OFF position, the camera is turned off.
After inserting the batteries and SD card, the camera can be operated in
the following modes:
TEST: When the switch is moved to the TEST position in the middle, the
Preview Testing Mode is on; you can adjust the camera settings or view
the photos and videos.
ON: When the switch is at the ON position to the right, the camera is in
the automatic infrared shooting mode.
8. Time & Date Stamp
The MINOX DTC 300 records images and videos including a time & date
stamp. When using the camera for the first time or again after a long
period of disuse, please set the correct time and date via the MENU
settings before use.
Using your camera
1. Preview Testing Mode
By pushing the button to the middle in TEST mode, the camera can be
used to make test images and the settings can be made.
Feature overview:
1.
Taking a test photo:
press the DOWN button to enter the live camera
mode and then press the SHOT button to take pictures.
Note:
During daylight, sharp and clear color images will be made; during
the night, clear black and white images will be made. Triple shots are
only supported when set to 5 MP resolution.
2.
Video recording: P
ress the UP button to enter the video mode and
then press the SHOT button to record, and the SHOT button again to
stop recording. (If you don’t press the SHOT button to stop, the camera
will record a 30 minute video clip and then begin recording the next
video sequence after approx. 10 seconds until the memory card is full
and/or the camera is turned off). Please refer to the video menu setting
for more information.
3.
Taking recording videos:
After selecting the “Photo +
Video” mode in the MENU, press the SHOT button and the camera will
first take a photo and then begin recording a video; press OK to stop.
4.
Testing the PIR function:
The best shooting range for the MINOX
DTC 300 is a 90 degree fan-shaped area right in front of the camera.
The best distance for picture and video quality is within the range of
3 – 10 meters. Please refer to steps below for more effective operation:
