Device Description
The device is used for intrinsically safe interface electrical equipment situated in a hazardous (Ex) area with
electrical equipment situated in a safe area.
The device is designed for weighing applications requiring intrinsically safe interfacing.
This is achieved by use of double provided current and voltage limiters in the supply
circuit and barriers in the measuring and sense circuits of the device.

These signals may only be operated with a SELV power supply unit or an evaluation
unit with SELV supply.
The unit provides the intrinsically safe interfacing of:
-
1 voltage output for the supply of e.g. load cells situated in a hazardous (Ex) area,
-
1 measuring voltage input from the hazardous (Ex) area,
-
1 sense voltage input from the hazardous (Ex) area.
This is achieved by use of double provided current and voltage limiters in the supply
circuit and barriers in the measuring and sense circuits of the device.
The device is available in 2 versions:
