These tools use gravity and pressure in the hydraulic
cylinder

valves ( Figure 2 , item 12)
4. a suction device to remove
brake fluid from the
reservoir

Use the tools in Figure 4 to remove the used hydraulic fluid and clean the
line.
—Do these steps:
1. Use a suction tool ( Figure 4 , item 4) to remove the used fluid from the reservoir. Clean the
contamination.
2. Connect the tubing ( Figure 4 , item 2) and container ( Figure 4 , item 1) to the valve on the
caliper ( Figure 1 , item 7).
3. Open the valve.
4. Add new fluid to flush out the lines.
5. Apply/release the brake (See Section 6 ) approximately 5 to 15 times. This will flush the used
fluid out of the lines.
6. Close the valve.
Note 4: These steps will cause air to go into the line.
4.4.
Add new hydraulic fluid and remove (bleed) air from the brake circuit.
Note 5: This procedure uses pressure in the hydraulic cylinder and the tools in Figure 4 .
1. Fill the reservoir with new DOT 3 brake fluid. When you do the remaining steps, continue to
add new fluid to the reservoir. Do not let the reservoir become more than half empty. You
must make sure that the reservoir has fluid to prevent air flow into the system from the
reservoir.
2. Apply electrical power to the machine. Release the brake.
3. See the part of the machine reference manual that tells how to operate the outputs manually.
