Jog/Purge
Pressing the Jog/Purge switch allows the
operator to jog wire without energizing the
weld power or gas valve circuit.
S
The feeder provides the ability to jog the
wire by means of the gun trigger or the Jog/
Purge switch. If the welding arc does not
initiate in 3 seconds after the gun trigger is
activated, the feeder will perform a jog op-
eration for a maximum of 2 minutes. If the
gun trigger is still activated after 2 minutes,
the jog operation is terminated to prevent
complete unspooling of the wire, in the
case of a damaged gun (see Section 8-3).
S
Jog speed is the wirefeed speed the unit
is set to for welding.
S
Jogging can also be accomplished by
pressing the Jog/Purge button.
S
Pressing the Jog/Purge button also al-
lows the operator to purge gas lines before
welding and to preset gas pressure at the
regulator.

1
Motor Torque Switch
Use switch to select either HI or
LOW torque setting for motor in
control box.
.
HI torque is recommended for
all wires except 0.030 and
0.035 Aluminum.
2
Run-in Speed Control
Use this control to set run-in
wirefeed speed before arc initiation.
After arc initiation, weld wirefeed
speed is controlled by the wire
speed setting on the welding gun.
The scale for run-in speed control is
a percentage of weld wire feed
speed.
.
The gun wire speed control ad-
justs wire speed from minimum
to maximum setting.
3
Trigger Hold Switch
Allows operator to weld without
holding gun trigger throughout the
weld cycle.
To start weld, press gun trigger and
trigger hold will actuate after 2
seconds of weld time. To end weld,
press and release gun trigger.
4
Flowmeter (Optional)
Use flowmeter to control shielding
gas flow at the feeder. The scale on
the flowmeter is in cubic feet per
hour (CFH). Read gas flow at the
widest part of the float in the meter.
Rotate valve to change gas flow as
necessary.
.
A regulator is still required on
shielding gas supply with this
option.
