  Be careful when using the mower on slopes and near slopes or 

embankments. 

  Mow only in daylight or good artificial light. 

  Avoid using the equipment on wet grass. 

  Always be sure of your movements on slopes and always avoid running. 

  For rotary wheel machines, mow along slopes, never up and down. Be 

very careful when changing direction on slopes. 

  Do not mow excessively on steep slopes. 

  Be very careful when backing up or pulling the machine towards you. 

  Stop the blade if it is necessary to tilt the machine for transport when 

crossing surfaces other than grass, and when transporting down and 

from the area to be cut. 

  Never use the machine without safety devices. 

  Caution: The machine should not be used without the complete grass 

catcher or self-closing dump opening guard in place. 

  Do not change the engine governor setting or over-speed the engine. 

  Do not alter any sealed setting for engine speed control. 

  The safety systems or features of the machine must not be altered or 

disabled. 

  Disengage all blades and drive switches before starting engine. 

  Start the engine carefully according to the instructions and with your feet 

well away from the blade. 

  Do not tip the machine when starting the engine. 

  Do not start the engine when it is stopped in front of the discharge chute. 

  Do not put your hands or feet near or under rotating parts. Stay clear of 

the discharge opening at all times. 

  Never lift or transport a machine with the engine running. 

  Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire, make sure all 

moving parts have come to a complete stop, and where there is a key, 

remove it:

  Before clearing blockages or unclogging the duct. 

o

  Before checking, cleaning or working on the mower. 

o

  Alter hitting a foreign object. Inspect the mower for damage and 

make repairs before restarting and operating. 

  Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire, make sure all 

moving parts have come to a complete stop, and when a key is in place, 

remove the key: 

o

  Whenever you leave the mower. 

o

  Before refueling. 

  Reduce the throttle setting during engine shutdown and, if engine is 

equipped with a shutoff valve, turn off fuel when shutdown is complete. 

2.4 Maintenance and storage 

  Keep all nuts, bolts, and screws in good condition to ensure equipment is 

in good working order. 

  Never store equipment with gasoline in the tank inside a building where 

the vapors can reach an open fire or spark. 

  Let the engine cool down before storing it anywhere. Clean and maintain 

the machine before storing it. 

  To reduce the risk of fire, keep the engine, choke, battery compartment,
