Dry compartment
,
The dry compartment is ideal for storing
foods which perish easily, such as
– Fish and seafood;
– Meat, poultry and sausages;
– Salads and lettuce;
– Dairy products, e.g. yoghurt, cheese,
cream, quark etc;
– You can also use the dry
compartment to store all types of
food, providing it is wrapped.
The main advantage of the dry
compartment is the low temperature
(rather than the humidity). The humidity
in the dry compartment is
approximately the same as in a
standard refrigerator.
Please note that food rich in protein
deteriorates faster than other types of
food.
Shellfish, for example, deteriorates
faster than fish, and fish deteriorates
faster than meat.
Always keep these foods
covered or
wrapped
.
Humidity controlled
compartment
,
,
.
The humidity controlled compartment
has a regulator which is used to adjust
the relative humidity.
Slide the regulator to the
,
or
.
relative
humidity setting.
Humidity level not increased
,
At the
,
setting, the humidity controlled
compartment becomes a dry
compartment - the regulator opens the
vents in the compartment so that the
humidity escapes (see "Dry
compartment
,
").
Increased humidity
.
With regulator at the
.
setting, the
humidity controlled compartment is
suitable for storing fruit and vegetables.
The regulator closes the vents in the
compartment so that the humidity is
retained.
The humidity greatly depends on the
type and quantity of food being stored,
if stored unwrapped.
The humidity can be too low if there is
only a small amount stored in the
compartment.
Tip
: If you are only storing a small
amount of food, wrap it in airtight
packaging.
In some circumstances, condensate
can occur in the humidity controlled
compartment at the increased
humidity setting. Use a cloth to
remove the condensate.
