7 TROUBLESHOOTING 

PROBLEM POSSIBLE 

CAUSE(s) 

SOLUTION(s) 

Charger LED red 
and rarely green. 

Charging process is almost 
finished 

Leave the radio to complete 
charging. 

Charger LED 
steady orange. 

Communication error 
between charger and the 
battery  

Replace the battery with a new 
Midland replacement battery. 

Charger LED 
blinking red. 

Battery temperature is too 
high for fast charging 

Charger starts fast charging 
automatically when the battery  
temperature falls. 

Charger LED 
alternately red and 
green. 

Radio is placed and 
removed from the charger in 
2-10sec. 

This is a battery discharge 
mode.
