Check that the disc is properly centered above the drive tray and that it is clear of the
front of the drive. It is important that the discs are centered within the relief of the
drive tray.
When the position of the disc is correct, click on the
Save
button. Repeat
this procedure for position D7.
Adjust the printer calibration
For all model printers, the calibration is basically the same. Each printer tray has a
clamping mechanism that holds the disc in place while it is being printed. Calibrate
each printer as follows
:
Rimage Perfect Image
Center the disc so that it is equidistant from the center pin and the two outside clamp-
ing pins. If in doubt, place the disc slightly closer to the two outside clamping pins.
XpressJet
Center the disc so that it is about 1/8” (~3-4mm) away from each of the two front
stationary pins.
TEAC P-55
Center the disc so that two left stationary pins are close to but not touching the center
of the disc.
FOR ALL PRINTERS
To make left/ right adjustments, loosen the four screws on the printer plate and slide
the printer left or right as necessary. Then tighten the screws when finished.
Continuous System Test
Place a few discs on spindle 4. Start the calibration utility program by double-clicking
the desktop icon Xpress XL Calibration. The calibration utility’s window will open
(shown below).
Caution:
Do not shut down
the system if there are any
production jobs running
on it. It may not be obvious
if a job is running, since a
job could be in the pre-
mastering phase. Use the
CD-Remote Management
Center to check the status of
current jobs (see software
manual for details).
