Unpack your device
This guide provides clear, detailed instructions about how to unpack your Microsoft Azure
StorSimple 8100 storage device. This device is shipped in a single box.
Prerequisites
Before you unpack your device, perform the following steps.
WARNING!
1. Before you begin, ensure that you have two people available to handle the weight in case you
are handling it manually. A fully confi gured device can weigh up to 32 kg (70 lbs).
2. Lay the box on a fl at, level surface.
Steps to unpack your device
Perform the following steps to unpack your device.
1. Inspect the box and the packaging foam for crushes, cuts, water damage or any other obvious
damage. If the box or packaging is severely damaged, do not open the box. Please contact
technical support to help you assess whether the device is in good working order.
2. Unpack the box. See the following fi gure showing the unpacked view of your storage device.
