Option
I and Q are each 10 bit × 8,192 word maximum. The readout rate can be
set in the range from 100Hz to 40MHz at 100Hz step.
Since IQ data stored in a USB flash drive can be used, this is the easiest
way to generate a vector modulation signal.

Factory option
By installing the IQ modulator MIQ700 in "Slot 1 for option card" on the
rear panel, MSG703 will be a vector signal generator. Valid only in “ALC
off”.

3 types of IQ inputs
(1) Analog input
The modulation wave is generated by the
voltage supplied to I and Q inputs.
The full scale voltage is ± 600mV.
The input is DC coupling, single-ended
and 50Ω. The baseband bandwidth is
10MHz maximum (RF bandwidth 20MHz).
The burst control can be also performed
by the signal input to TRIG IN connector
on the front panel.
(2) Digital input
Using optional "50P twisted pair cable
MSG700-04”, the IQ data are input.
The number of bits is 10 bits in each of I
and Q, and the data format is two's
complement. The data rate is 80MSPS
maximum and the bandwidth is 10MHz
maximum. The synchronous clock should
be input at the same time.
The input format conforms to TIA/EIA-644
(LVDS) standard.
The burst control can be performed the
same as analog input. In this case, "CAR
-
RIER ON" signal should be supplied to the
digital input connector.
