Chapter 2. Installation and Operation
2.1
GETTING STARTED
The MCP1633 SEPIC LED Driver Demonstration Board is fully assembled and tested.
The board requires the use of an external input voltage source (+7V to +18V) and the
LED load (provided).
2.1.1
Necessary Instruments and Tools
• Adjustable DC power supply with 0V-24V/3 ADC range output capability
• Digital oscilloscope with a minimum bandwidth of 50 MHz
• Signal generator
• Digital voltmeter/ammeter
• Wires for connections
2.1.2
Setup Procedure
To operate the board, follow the next steps:
1. Connect a power supply to the input connector J; the positive (+) and negative
(-) connector pins are marked on the board’s silkscreen.
2. Attach the jumper to the load connector in order to connect the LED from the
bottom side.
3. Connect the jumper on the INT position to use the local dimming signal (provided
by the PIC12F1822 microcontroller).
4. The DC voltage supplied by the adjustable DC power supply must be between
7V and 18V.
5. Turn on the power supply.
6. Rotate the potentiometer R25 to adjust the dimming level from 10-100%.
