Note:
MFJ supplies one shorting clip with the MFJ-1026. This shorting clip is the only one needed for
all
configurations.
When using the internal noise antenna:
If JMP1 is installed, sensitivity of the internal whip antenna will decrease greatly even if the external
noise antenna is disconnected. Neither JMP1 or JMP2 should be activated when the internal WHIP
antenna is used. The PRE-AMP switch will select either the internal whip (ON position) or
AUXILIARY ANTENNA (OFF position) as long as JMP1 and JMP2 are not activated. The
following diagram (Figure 2) is the factory default setting (JMP1 and JMP2 not activated).
When using an external AUXILIARY ANTENNA:
For maximum sensitivity, internal jumper JMP1 must be activated when an external noise antenna is
used. Remove the shorting clip from JMP2 and place it on the JMP1 header as shown in Figure 3.
