works with Asus and Intel on-board RS-232 connectors. This is
also the connector used with the Merging Technologies USB to RS-232 adaptor. (see below)

is provided for compatibility with motherboards from other
manufacturers.
Note:
This connector may not be available on recent revisions of the MTCHIO board.
If in any doubt, please refer to your motherboard User Manual and ensure the on board connector matches
