Warning Horn
Function
Sound
Description
Engine overspeed
Continuous
The warning horn is
activated any time the
engine speed exceeds the
maximum allowable RPM.
The system will limit the
engine speed to within the
allowable range. Engine
overspeed indicates a
condition that should be
corrected. Overspeed
could be caused by
incorrect propeller pitch,
engine height, trim angle,
tilt angle (shallow water
operation) etc.
Engine communication/
Remote control failure
Intermittent beep
Engine Guardian System
is activated. Power limit
will restrict engine speed
to idle.
Sensor/Actuator out of
range
Single beep (engine
running)
May be a problem with one
of the engine functions.
Have your dealer check
the engine soon.
Continuous
Engine Guardian System
is activated. Power limit
will restrict engine speed
to either idle or 75%,
depending on fault.
ENGINE GUARDIAN SYSTEM
The Engine Guardian System monitors the critical sensors on the
engine for any early indications of problems. The system will
respond to a problem by emitting a continuous beep and/or
reducing engine power in order to provide engine protection.
If Guardian System has been activated, reduce throttle speed. The
problem will need to be identified and corrected, if possible. The
system must be reset before the engine will operate at higher
speeds. Moving the throttle lever back to the idle position will reset
the system.
