this reduces the available cargo and luggage
load capacity of your vehicle.
In your Operating Instructions or Operator's Man-

and Loading Information placard" and a calculation
example for determining the maximum load.

Not all vehicles are permitted to tow a trailer.
Towing a trailer is only permitted if a trailer-
hitch is installed. Please consult an authorized
Mercedes-Benz dealer if you have any ques-
tions about towing a trailer with your vehicle.
Even if you have calculated the total load carefully,
you should still make sure that the maximum per-
missible gross weight and the maximum gross axle
weight rating of your vehicle are not exceeded.
Details can be found on the vehicle identification
plate.
Have you loaded vehicle – including driver, occu-
pants and load – weighed on a vehicle weigh-
bridge. The measured values may not exceed the
maximum permissible values stated on the vehicle
identification plate.

Sample calculation for determining the maximum
load
The following table has examples of how to calcu-
late total and cargo load capacities with varying
seating configurations and different numbers and
sizes of occupants. The following examples use a
maximum load of 1,500 lbs (680 kg). This value is
for illustrative purposes only. Make sure you are
using the actual load limit for your vehicle stated
on your vehicle's Tire and Loading Information
placard (
/
page 251).
The higher the weight of all the occupants, the
smaller the maximum load for luggage.
