Vehicles with manual transmission:

you attempted to swivel the ball neck and the transmission is not in neutral

Shift the transmission to neutral

Check trailer hitch lock

(white display message)

* The trailer tow hitch is not operational when you are driving with a trailer.

Stop the vehicle immediately, paying attention to road and traffic conditions, and switch off the engine.

Uncouple the trailer and secure it against rolling away.

Initiate a new swivelling procedure (

page 264).

If the ball neck is extended, press and hold the button on the boot lid until the ball neck engages beneath the

bumper.

When the display message disappears, couple up the trailer and drive on.

WARNING

Risk of an accident if the ball neck is not locked

If the ball neck is not in the locked position, the trailer may come loose.

Pull over and stop the vehicle safely as soon as possible, paying attention to road and traffic conditions.

Do not continue driving under any circumstances.
