Canceling cruise control
There are several ways to cancel cruise
control:

Step on the brake pedal.
Cruise control will be canceled. The
last speed set will be stored for later
use.
or

Briefly push the cruise control lever to
position

last speed set will be stored for later

The last stored speed is canceled when
you turn off the engine.

Cruise control automatically switched
off, if
E 320 CDI, E 320, E 500, E 55 AMG:

you step on the brake pedal.

you depress the parking brake ped-
al.
In this case the segments in the
multifunction display (

go out and no warning sounds.

the vehicle speed is below 25 mph
(40 km/h).

the ESP is in operation or switched
off with the ESP switch (

you move the gear selector lever to
position
N while driving.
The segments in the multifunction dis-

acoustic warning sounds.

Moving gear selector lever to

cruise control. However, the gear se-
lector lever should not be moved to
position
N while driving except to coast
when the vehicle is in danger of skid-
ding (e.g. on icy roads).
