On Audio 20

Bluetooth

must be activated in Audio 20

General information

Before using your Bluetooth

audio device

with Audio 20 for the first time, you will need

to authorize it.
When you authorize a new Bluetooth

audio

device, it is connected automatically.
Connecting comprises:

searching for a Bluetooth

audio device

subsequently authorizing it

You can connect up to 15 Bluetooth

devices.

When you authorize a mobile phone that

supports Bluetooth

audio, it will be

entered in the Bluetooth

telephone list

(

page 39) as well as in the Bluetooth

device list. Mercedes-Benz recommends

authorizing a mobile phone in Bluetooth

telephony (

page 39).

Searching for and authorizing a

Bluetooth

audio device

Switch on Bluetooth

audio mode

(

page 71).

If you see the

No Bluetooth Audio

Device Authorized

message, you will

need to authorize the Bluetooth

audio

device first.

Select

BT Audio

using the controller (slide

and turn

cVd

) and press

confirm.

Select

BT Audio

and press

to confirm.

To search: select

Update

and press

confirm.

Audio 20 scans for Bluetooth

audio

devices within range and enters them in the

Bluetooth

device list if they support the

A2DP and AVRCP Bluetooth

audio

profiles.

The duration of the search depends on the

number of Bluetooth

audio devices within

range and their characteristics.

audio devices within range and all

previously authorized Bluetooth

audio

devices, whether or not they are in range.

To authorize: select a Bluetooth

audio

device that has not yet been authorized

from the list by turning

After successful authorization, the

Bluetooth

audio device is connected and

starts playing.

External authorization: Audio 20 may not

be able to locate your Bluetooth

audio

device due to the specific security settings

of the Bluetooth

audio device itself. In this

case, check whether your Bluetooth

device can locate the Audio 20 system

(

page 40). The Bluetooth

device name

of Audio 20 is

MB Bluetooth

After successful authorization, the

Bluetooth

audio device is connected and

starts playing.

With some Bluetooth

audio devices,

playback must be initially started on the

device itself so that Audio 20 can play the

audio data.
