With the exterior lamps turned on (except standing
lamps), the symbols on all buttons light up. Each button
shines brighter when depressed.
Note:
The air conditioner removes considerable moisture from
the air during operation. It is normal, for water to drip on
the ground through openings in the underbody.

Temperature Selection (° C)
The desired interior temperature can be selected by
rotating the temperature selector. The selected
temperature is reached as quickly as possible and
maintained. A basic setting of 22° C (72° F) is recom­
mended. To avoid undesirable temperature fluctuations,
a set temperature should only be readjusted in small
increments.
If desired, the temperature selector can be rotated to the
end positions “ MIN” and “ MAX” . This overrides the auto­
matic mode.
“MIN” (detent) = peak cooling.
The system operates with recirculated air at outside tem­
peratures above 20° C (68° F).
“ MAX” (detent) = maximum heating.
If button S is depressed with the temperature selector
in the “ MIN” or “ MAX” end positions, the fan will run at
near maximum speed.

Air Recirculation
Pressing the symbol-side of the air recirculation
switch causes air to be recirculated without addi­
tional fresh air and the red indicator lamp to light
up. After a while the air recirculation mode will switch off
automatically, including the indicator lamp.
By pressing the symbol-side of the air recirculation
switch when cooling:
The system will automatically switch from recirculated air
back to fresh air after approx. 30 minutes at outside
temperatures above approx. 7° C (45° F).
By pressing the symbol-side of the air recirculation
switch when heating:
The system will automatically switch from recirculated air
back to fresh air after approx. 5 minutes at outside tem­
peratures below approx. 7° C (45° F).
This mode can be selected to prevent annoying odors or
dust from entering the car’s interior.
If the windows should fog up from the inside, switch from
recirculated air back to fresh air by pressing the lower
half of the air recirculation switch (the indicator lamp in
the switch goes out).
At high outside temperatures, the system automatically
engages the recirculated air mode and thereby increases
the cooling capacity performance.
Note:
It is not possible to switch to recirculated air if
button 0 or Q is depressed.
