Auto shut-off
To increase safety, the steam iron is
equipped with an auto shut-off function.
The thermostat automatically switches
the heat off after 30 seconds if the iron
is lying motionless flat on its soleplate,
and after 8 minutes if the iron is standing
upright on its end.
Once auto shut-off is activated, the
indicator light (6) flashes and the iron
beeps six times.
• Lift or move the iron to deactivate the
auto shut-off function.
• The indicator light goes out, and the
thermostat light begins to glow.
• Continue ironing once the thermostat
light goes out again.
CLEANING
The steam iron has an automatic cleaning
function, and we recommend cleaning
the iron thoroughly once every 14 days
(possibly more frequently if using very
hard water) as follows:
• Set the temperature control dial to MIN
position.
• Remove the plug from the socket.
• Fill the water reservoir right up to MAX
(300 ml – see ‘Filling with water’), and
close the water reservoir cover.
• Set the temperature control dial to
position •••, plug the iron in and switch
on the power.
• Wait until the thermostat light goes
out. Hold the steam iron horizontal
over a sink, and turn the steam setting
selection knob to the cleaning setting
and pull it up.
• Hot water and steam will now run out
of the holes in the soleplate, and any
calcium deposits and impurities will
be washed out. Shake the steam iron
gently from side to side until the water
reservoir is empty.
• Repeat the cleaning procedure if large
quantities of calcium deposits were
washed out of the iron.
• Replace the knob with the valve, and
turn the steam setting selection knob
to position b (no steam), and the
thermostat button to MIN.
• Remove the plug from the socket.
• Place the steam iron on top of an
old tea towel or similar to dry before
putting it away.
The handle (7) and water reservoir can
be wiped over with a damp cloth and, if
necessary, a little detergent.
Never use a scouring sponge or
abrasive cleaning agents for cleaning the
soleplate.
The spray nozzle can be cleaned, if
necessary, using a special needle.
