10.3 Cleaning of the collection tank, every six months
Working in tanks is classified as hazardous in line with the employers' liability as-
sociation rules. Young persons are not permitted to perform the hazardous tasks of
"Entering" and "Moving in".
Before commencing cleaning work, the collecting tank must be drained and
flushed. It is recommended to do cleaning after the emptying of the collecting tank.
Ensure sufficient ventilation in the tank.
Wear firm shoes, work gloves and a helmet.
A helper must be posted as a safety officer and must maintain constant contact
with the person working in the collection tank.

Drain the collection tank.
•
Open the collection tank and visually check for foreign matter and dirt.
•
Spray out the collection tank and remove any potential foreign matter.
•
Close the collection tank.

Discharging the collection tank
The connections for the suction and pendulum gas line and the operating console
are in a control cabinet near the street.
Suction takes place via a DN 100 connection pillar to which the discharge vehicle
can be connected.
The used air (pendulum gas line) can also be connected to a DIN 100 connecting
sleeve.
The following switching-on options are available on the operating panel:
Generally the built-in key switch is used to release tank emptying. You can also
choose by means of a button whether to vacuum out the collection tank with or
without the assistance of compressed air.
The “Suction with and without compressed air assistance” option can be deactivat-
ed by pressing the “OFF” button.
Once the suction operation is complete, the key switch must be reset to “0”.
