Changing engine oil

Drain off the old oil while the engine is warm� Warm oil runs easier and the tank can be fully
emptied�

1�

Place a suitable container beneath the engine to collect the old oil and then remove the oil
filler cap/dipstick and drain plug�

2�

Wait until the old oil has completely run out, refit the drain plug and make sure it is tightly in
place�

3�

The oil container and used oil must be disposed of in accordance with applicable regulations�
Take it to the recycling station�

4�

Make sure that the engine is on a flat surface and fill with the recommended grade of oil up
to the outer edge of the oil filler opening�

5�

Screw the filler cap/dipstick back in place�

Engine oil recommendations

• Oil is a major factor affecting performance and service life� Use a cleaning vehicle oil designed

for four-stroke engines�

• SAE 10W-30 is recommended for normal use� Other viscosities may be used where the mean

temperature in the environment is within the recommended ranges as shown in the diagram�
