OPERATION
WARNING!
Do not start the pump until the pump chamber has filled with water. Do not touch the pump
until it has been turned off and disconnected from the power supply for at least five minutes. Drain water
from the pump chamber before dismantling the pump.
Rotate the fan blade before starting and check that the pump can turn freely. Unscrew the filler plug, fill
the pump chamber with clean water from the outlet and, once the chamber is full and completely free of
residual air, screw the filler plug back in. Set the valve to low flow to begin with, and adjust the flow to the
desired level once the water has started to flow (approved intervals are shown on the type plate).
NB
1.
The pump chamber must be completely filled with water before first use, and does not then need
to be filled again.
2.
If the pump chamber has been filled with water and the pump has been run for five minutes
without any water being pumped out, switch the garden pump off and add more water or check
whether the inlet pipe is leaking.
3.
In the event of frost damage, open the drain plug and empty all the water from the pump
chamber. Before starting the pump again, refit the drain plug, tighten it and fill the pump
chamber with water.
If the pump is not to be used for an extended period of time, it must be drained of water.
4.
The pump housing, pump wheel and mounting bracket must be cleaned and oiled with anti-rust
oil before being put in a dry, well-ventilated storage place.
5.
If the pump has not been used for an extended period of time, start it in accordance with the
instructions given above.
