Incorrect installation
Precautions when installing inlet pipes
1.
If a rubber hose is used as an inlet pipe, it must be reinforced to prevent it being flattened by
the underpressure.
2.
The bottom valve must be positioned vertically, approximately 30 cm from the bottom, so that
the garden pump does not suck in sand and stones (B1).
3.
The inlet pipes must be connected together using as few bends as possible in order to avoid
blocking the water flow.
4.
The inlet pipe must be of the same or larger diameter as the water inlet in order to avoid
performance issues.
5.
Keep an eye on the water level while the pump is in operation as the bottom valve must not be
allowed to go above the surface of the water (B2).
6.
If the inlet pipe is more than 10 metres long, or if the lifting height exceeds 4 metres, the
diameter of the inlet pipe must be greater than that of the pump’s water inlet. The greater the
suction height, the larger the diameter required.
7.
When installing pipes, make sure that the pump is not affected by the pipe pressure.
8.
A filter must be installed in the inlet pipe to prevent solid particles entering the pump.
Precautions when installing outlet pipes
1.
The outlet pipe must have the same or greater diameter as the water outlet in order to
minimise problems such as loss of power, excessively high flows or noise.
