SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read the Operating Instructions carefully before use.
Familiarise yourself with the log saw
Read all the instructions and warning labels on the machine prior to use, in order to understand its
area of application, limitations and possible risks.
Drugs, alcohol and medication
Never use the machine when you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
Avoid dangerous operating conditions
Keep the work area clean and well lit. Cluttered work areas increase the risk of accidents and
injuries.
Do not use in damp or wet places. Do not expose the machine to rain.
Do not use the machine in explosive environments, such as in the vicinity of flammable liquids,
gases or dust.
Inspecting the log saw
Check the log saw before each use. Safety devices must be fitted correctly and function properly.
Always check that all adjuster keys/spanners and other assembly tools have been removed before
turning the machine on. Replace any damaged, missing or broken parts prior to use.
Wear appropriate clothing
Do not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewellery, watches or the like, as these can get caught in
moving parts.
Safety gloves that are not electrically conductive as well as non-slip shoes are recommended.
Wear a hair net if you have long hair.
Protect your face and eyes
All saws can eject objects that can cause permanent eye injuries. Always wear safety glasses
and/or a visor. Normal glasses only have shock-resistant lenses and are therefore not considered
to be protective glasses.
Extension cord
Unsuitable extension cords can cause a fire and/or electric shock.
Unsuitable extension cords can cause the log saw to work less well, which can result in
overheating. Check that the cross-section of the extension cord's conductors is sufficient for the
motor's power supply.
The cross-section of the extension cord's conductors should normally be at least 1.5 mm². If the
cord length exceeds 20 m, the cross-section of the conductors must be at least 2 mm².
Do not use insufficiently insulated connections. Connections must be appropriate for outdoor use.
Protect against the risk of electric shock
Check that the rated voltage on the type plate corresponds to the mains supply voltage, and that
the circuit is correctly fuse protected, earthed and fitted with a residual current device.
The machine may only be connected to an earthed mains supply. Avoid body contact with earthed
surfaces such as pipes, radiators, cookers and refrigerators.
Never open the pushbutton box on the motor. The box must only be opened by authorised
electricians.
Do not touch metal parts of the plug when connecting or disconnecting it.
Keep onlookers and children at a safe distance
The log saw may only be used by one person at a time. Everyone apart from the person using the
log saw must remain at a safe distance from the work area when the saw is in operation. Never
allow anyone to help you release logs that have become stuck.
