INSTALLING THE SAW BLADE
Unplug the machine from the mains supply before carrying out maintenance work.
The saw blades used are available as universal saw blades at major DIY or hardware stores.
Choose the right saw blade depending on the type of wood.
Push the button (6) upwards.
Slide the saw blade with the teeth downwards through the slot. Make sure the saw blade bolts (or
saw blade adapter) are inserted into the lower saw blade holder.
Pull the saw blade upwards, so that the upper bolts (or saw blade adapter) are inserted into the
upper holder.
Tighten the lock button until the blade has the right tension.
Remove tools and other objects from the saw table.
Turn on the power and allow the saw blade to run before you begin sawing. Make sure the saw
blade runs smoothly.
REMOVING THE SAW BLADE
Unplug the machine from the mains supply before carrying out maintenance work.
Loosen the lock button until the spring is no longer tensioned.
Push the upper blade holder carefully downwards and lift up the blade slightly to facilitate removal.
Allow the blade to fall slightly downwards and slide it forwards to release it from the lower holder.
Basic figure sawing tips:
Anyone wishing to use this saw is faced with a learning curve. Some saw blades will break as you are
learning how to use the saw and how the saw blades are best used.
Saw blades wear out faster if you:
-
saw plywood, which is very abrasive;
-
saw in wood that is thicker than the blade stroke;
-
saw hard tree species, such as hardwood;
-
subject the saw blade to lateral pressure
The saw blades only cut on the downward motion.
Push the workpiece slowly and with minimal force against the saw blade.
Hold the workpiece on the table with both hands and push it gently against the saw blade to
prevent the saw blade from breaking or not running.
For best results, the saw blade must be sharp.
Use the correct type of saw blade. Which saw blade you use depends on the thickness of the wood
and the cut you wish to produce. Consider the following general rule: The thinner and harder the
wood, the finer the saw teeth.
Use a small blade to cut tight curves.
