• Small workpieces must be firmly clamped.
Position the power cord so that it is not in
the way and cannot be damaged by
moving parts.
• Check before sawing that the sole is
locked at the correct angle.
• Test first on a spare piece of the same
material as the workpiece, to check that
settings and saw blade are suitable.
Sawing
• Hold the product in a firm grip. Check that
the saw blade does not move at the
workpiece and press the power switch to
start. Wait until the saw blade reaches
maximum speed before starting to saw.
• Do not press the product forward – let the
blade do the work.
• Keep your hands where you can see them
all the time. Do not put your hands under
the workpiece, where you cannot see the
saw blade.
Plunge sawing
This operation should only be carried out by
experienced users and very carefully. Plunge
sawing is only possible in soft materials such
as wood.
FIG. 10
1. Let the front edge of the sole rest against
the workpiece with the product tilted
forward. Check that the blade is not in
contact with the workpiece.
2. Start the product and allow the blade to
reach maximum speed and then turn the
product slowly down so that the blade
starts to saw the material. Continue
until the complete sole rests against the
workpiece.
Plunge sawing can also be done by drilling a
hole in which to insert the blade.
Sawing metal
• Be careful, the blade can easily bend.
• If the product vibrates during the sawing,
switch to a finer toothed saw blade.
• Reduce the speed if the blade gets hot.
• It is recommended to use a lubricant/
coolant, such as alcohol for aluminium
and cutting oil for steel.
• When sawing thin sheet metal it should
be clamped between two pieces of thin
plywood or the equivalent, after which all
three layers are sawn at the same time.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING!
• Unplug the power cord before cleaning
and maintenance.
• A damaged power cord must be replaced
by an authorised service centre.
CLEANING
• Clean the product with a damp cloth and
mild detergent. Do NOT use solvent or
strong or abrasive detergent, this can
damage the product.
• Keep the ventilation openings and switch
clean. Do not attempt to clean by
inserting pointed objects through the
openings on the tool.
