sparks, and other sources of heat.
• Never remove the fuel cap or add fuel
while the engine is running. Allow the
engine to cool before filling with fuel.
• Check that fuel is not running through the
exhaust pipe.
• Never use oil intended for 4-stroke
engines or for water-cooled 2-stroke
engines.
Adjusting the handle
1. The back handle can be adjusted in three
positions: 0° / 90° left / 90° right.
2. Press in the catch to angle the handle and
turn the back handle until the pin engaged
with a clicking sound.
3. The work can be resumed when the back
handle is locked in the new position

WARNING!
Do not press the throttle when adjusting the
angle of the handle.
Hand guard
The hand guard prevents the hands coming into
contact with the moving blades, for example if
the user looses grip of the front handle.
NOTE:
• Check that the hand guard is correctly
fitted.
• Check that the hand guard is undamaged.
Starting the engine
1. Press the primer bulb several times until
fuel can be seen in the bulb.
2. Put the engine switch in the
ON
position.
3. Put the choke in the
START
position to start
if the engine is cold. Do not use the choke
to start the engine when it is hot.
4. The choke is closed in the
START
position.
5. Pull the starter cord slowly until it catches,
and then pull quickly. Let the starter handle
return to its original position slowly. Follow
along with your hand to avoid damaging
the starter. The first time the engine is
started it needs several attempts to start to
get fuel from the tank to the engine.
6. Move the choke to the
RUN
position when
the engine has started.
7. Keep the engine running for half a minute
to warm it up.

WARNING!
• The cutting mechanism can start to move
when the engine starts. Make sure the
cutting mechanism cannot come into
contact with any objects.
• Keep other people, especially children,
and pets away from the work area.
• Switch off the hedge trimmer
immediately if any of the following
occurs:

The engine speed suddenly changes.
–
Sparks are produced.
–
The blades are damaged.
–
The engine misfires.
–
The hedge trimmer vibrates
abnormally.
–
Smoke or flames appear.
–
Rain or strong wind.
Switching off the engine
1. Allow the hedge trimmer to run on idle for
a few minutes.
2. Switch off the engine by moving the engine
switch to the
0
position.
