CAPACITY OF THE DOCUMENTS SHREDDER
The appliance shreds up to 5 sheets of paper (DIN A4,
80g/pc). The paper width may comprise up to 21.8cm.
When shredding small paper sizes such as letters or
credit card receipts, please insert them into the middle
of the shredding slot.
Please ensure that never more than the above-
mentioned maximum quantity is inserted in the
shredder. Otherwise the device may sustain dam-
age.
SEPARATE SHREDDER FOR CD/DVD/CREDIT
CARD
1. Open the security door on the CD/DVD/credit card
input opening.
2. Insert the card into the top center of the CD/DVD/
credit card input opening. You can only cut up one
credit card at the time. Do this always ahead with
the broad side into the CD/DVD/ credit card in-
put opening. Otherwise, the magnetic strip is
not destroyed.
3. Given that such materials always present the
risk of splinters, please keep your face at an ac-
ceptable distance when inserting CD/DVD/credit
card. This is in order to avoid serious injuries.
4. Do not insert your finger into the central hole of
the disc when you insert it into the device, there
is danger of injury!
PROTECTION AGAINST PAPER JAMS
AND OVERLOADING
The appliance is equipped with a motor overload
guard. To protect the machine well, we suggest the
user to operate it in this way: work 2 minutes then rest
60 minutes. Under the following conditions, the cur-
rent feed to the unit’s motor is interrupted:

Continual operation of the document shredder with
maximum capacity for a prolonged period of time,
e.g. longer than 2 minutes without interruption.
■
Overrunning the shredding capacity e.g. adding
more than 5 sheets of paper (80g/pc) in one opera-
tion or in the event the paper is not inserted length-
wise into the feed slot.
Under the above-mentioned conditions, the automat-
ic overload protector of the motor is triggered, where-
upon the current feed to the device is interrupted. In
such a case, please take the following steps:

Disconnect the main plug from the AC socket in
order to avoid the risk of serious injuries and wait
at least 60 minutes until the overload protector has
reset the device. Now tear off excess paper from the
top of the shredder or remove it.
■
Reconnect the main plug to the AC socket and set
the switch to the REV position. Pull the remaining
paper away from the shredding blades. Afterwards,
set the switch back to the AUTO position. If neces-
sary, repeat this step.
■
With the switch in the AUTO position and the open
feed slot, you may now continue the normal shred-
ding process.
CLEANING
1. DANGER! Absolutely unplug the power cord be-
fore cleaning. Otherwise there is a risk of electric
shock and other injuries!
2. WARNING! The blades of the device are extreme-
ly sharp! Danger of injury!
3. Empty the collecting trays regularly. Clean the col-
lecting trays and paper cutter with a slightly damp-
ened cloth and possibly with a mild detergent.
4. Remove any residue in the cutting holes with a suit-
able object. Make sure that while cleaning the
plug is not connected with an electric socket in
order to avoid injuries.
