 Intended  use

The charging station charges the transmitter and receiver of the Mc Crypt Tour Guide Systems, if these

devices are operated with rechargeable batteries.
The charging station is approved only for connection to 100-240 V/50-60 Hz AC using the supplied plug-in

power supply unit.
The product may only be used indoors, never outdoors. Contact with moisture, for example in bathrooms,

must be avoided.
Any use other than that described above could lead to damage to this product and involves the risk of short

circuits,

fi

 re, electric shock, etc.

No part of the product may be modi

fi

ed or rebuilt, and the housing must not be opened.

The safety instructions must be observed at all times!

This product complies with the applicable national and European requirements.

Safety Instructions

The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe these safety

instructions. We will not assume liability for any resulting damage.

We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by incorrect

handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions. In such cases, the warranty will

be null and void.

An exclamation mark indicates important notes, in these operating instructions, which

should always be observed.

•  For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversion and/or modi

fi

cation of the charging station is not permitted.

•   Prior to commissioning, check the charging station and the power supply unit for damage. If the device is

damaged, do not operate it and consult an expert or our service team.

•  Do not expose the product to high temperatures, strong vibrations or dampness.
•  Use the product only in a temperate climate, never in a tropical climate.
•   Connect the mains adapter only to a normal mains socket (100-240 V/50-60 Hz) of the public power supply.
•   If the power supply unit or its connecting cable is damaged, do not touch it. First, switch off the power at the

mains socket (e.g. with the circuit breaker), and then carefully unplug the power supply unit from the mains

socket.

•   Never replace a damaged connecting cable of the power supply unit. If the connecting cable is damaged,

the power supply unit is unusable and must be disposed of. Do not repair it.

•   Never touch the power supply unit with wet or damp hands. There is danger of a life-threatening electric

shock!

•   Never place vessels or containers containing liquids, such as glasses, buckets, vases or plants on the

device or in the direct vicinity of the device. Liquids may seep into the casing and thus impair the electrical

safety of the device. Furthermore, there is a signi

fi

 cant risk of

fi

re or a lethal electric shock! In such an event,

isolate the mains socket to which the product is connected (e.g. switch off the automatic fuse) and unplug

the power supply unit from the mains socket. Afterwards, the product can no longer be used; take it to a

specialist workshop.

•   Devices that operate on the mains voltage must be kept out of the reach of children. For this reason, be

particularly careful when using the device in the presence of children. They may try to stick objects into the

device through openings in the housing. There is danger of a life-threatening electric shock.

•   Do not leave the packaging material carelessly lying around, since it may become a dangerous plaything

for children.

•   In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer’s Liability Insurance As-

sociation for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are to be observed.

•   If in doubt about how to connect the device correctly, or should any questions arise that are not answered

in these operating instructions, please contact our technical advisory service or another specialist.

Set-up

Please ensure suf

fi

cient ventilation of the charging station during the charging operation.

 Do not drill any holes or screws into the housing in order to attach the device somewhere;

this will damage it and even impair its safety.

Connection

The mains socket to which the power supply unit is connected must be easily accessible,

so the device can be quickly isolated from the mains power supply in the event of a fault.

Ensure that the connecting cable of the power supply unit is neither jammed nor damaged

by sharp edges.

Do not leave the cable lying around; route it in a professional manner to avoid accidents.

Connect the connecting cable of the power supply unit (2) to the charging station.
Plug the power supply unit into a wall socket.
•   The charging station performs a self-test after being connected to the mains power supply. The display

LEDs (3)

fl

 ash in red and green.

•  The display LEDs (3) disappear after the completion of the self-test and the device is ready for operation.

Charging procedure

The charging station is intended exclusively for charging transmitters and receivers of the

Mc Crypt Tour Guide Systems.

Charging is allowed only if 1.2 V-NiCd or NiMH storage batteries are inserted into the

battery compartments of the transmitter or receiver.

Charging batteries or other storage battery types is not allowed.

•  Switch off the transmitters or receivers whose storage batteries are to be charged.
•  Place the transmitter or receiver in the charging shafts (1).
•  After being set, the charging station analyses the status of the storage battery. The display LEDs

(3)

fl

ash in green or red. If the LEDs do not light up, the transmitter or receiver is set incorrectly.

In this case, turn it by 180° and readjust it.

•  The respective display LED (3) lights up in red as soon as the charging operation starts.
•   The display LED (3) lights up in green when the charging operation is over. Now remove the transmitter or

receiver from the charging shaft (1).

•  The charging duration depends on the capacity of the storage battery used.
•  Disconnect the power supply unit from the mains power socket after the charging operation.

Maintenance and Cleaning

The product does not require any maintenance. You should never take it apart.
Please use a soft, dry, clean cloth for cleaning.
Do not use any chemical cleaning agents, as they can discolour the plastic casing.

Disposal

Electronic devices are recyclable waste materials and must not be disposed of in the household

waste!

Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regulations.
