Connection
When making the connections, make sure that the connecting cables are not pinched or
damaged by sharp edges.
The input should only be connected to low-level audio outputs on audio devices.
Before connecting, make sure that the values for input sensitivity and input impedance
speci
fi
ed in the technical data comply with the data for the connected audio device.
Otherwise, the ampli
fi
er module or the audio device may be damaged.
The device, to which the ampli
fi
er module is connected, must be switched off while you
make the connections.
• Connect the LINE IN (2) connection to a low level audio output on your audio preampli
fi
er. Use the shielded
RCA cable for this.
• Use an audio output that is controlled by the preampli
fi
er’s volume control, otherwise the volume cannot be
controlled by the preampli
fi
er’s volume control.
• The ampli
fi
er module for the left speaker is connected to the left output and the ampli
fi
er module for the right
speaker is connected to the right output.
Mains Connection
The mains socket, to which the device is connected, must be easily accessible, so it can
be quickly isolated from the mains voltage in the event of a fault.
The
ampli
fi
er module and all connected devices must be turned off when connecting the
voltage supply.
Ensure that all the electrical connections and connection cables between the differ-
ent devices and any extension cables comply with the regulations and comply with the
operating instructions.
• Plug the mains cable’s plug (4) into a wall socket.
• The POWER switch (6) is used to switch the device on or off.
Position OFF: the power supply is switched off; the status display POWER LED (1) is not lit.
Position ON: the power supply is switched on; the status display POWER LED (1) is lit.
• The device has an automatic standby switch. For this function to work, the POWER switch (6) has to be in
the ON position.
Connection LINE IN (2), no signal > status indicator POWER LED (1) red > standby mode
Connection LINE IN (2) signal > status indicator POWER LED (1) blue > operating mode
After use (signal no longer present), the device switches off automatically after approx. 15 minutes. The
status indicator POWER LED (1) then changes from blue to red.
Getting Started and Operation
Only put the appliance into operation when you have familiarised yourself with its fea-
tures and these operating instructions. Check again that all the connections are correct.
Do not operate the product if it is damaged.
The device may only be operated by persons familiar with the operating instructions.
Keep other persons and children away from the device.
• Turn the control LEVEL (3) all the way down.
• Switch on the connected audio device and start the playback.
• Adjust the volume of the audio source to approx. 75% of the maximum volume or to the maximum undis-
torted level (visible on devices with recording level displays and the “0 dB” marking).
• Switch the inbuilt ampli
fi
er module on.
• Now, set the maximum required volume on the inbuilt ampli
fi
er module.
• This setting enables a high signal-to-noise ratio and gives the best audio quality. Please keep in mind that
the maximum volume depends on the power capacity of the loudspeaker and ampli
fi
er. Distortion may not
be audible. Excessive volume can damage both the loudspeakers and the inbuilt ampli
fi
er module.
• Switch the connected audio device off again.
• The device switches automatically to standby mode after approx. 15 minutes. The colour of the status
indicator POWER LED (1) changes from blue to red.
• The next time the connected audio device is switched on, the ampli
fi
er module automatically switches on
with it. The colour of the status indicator POWER LED (1) changes from red to blue.
• If you want to turn the ampli
fi
er module off altogether, move the POWER switch (6) to the OFF position.
Maintenance and Care
The inbuilt ampli
fi
er module is maintenance-free.
Only clean the exterior of the device with a dry cloth. Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solu-
tions as these may damage the surface of the housing.
Fuse replacement
If fuses have to be changed, make sure that they are only replaced with fuses of the same type and rated
current (refer to the “Technical Data”).
Do not repair fuses or bridge the fuse holders.
• After disconnecting the device (by unplugging the plug!), turn the cap on the fuse holder (5) until it comes
out and then remove the faulty fuse.
• Remove the defective fuse and replace it with a fuse of the same type.
• Now, carefully replace the fuse holder with the new fuse.
• Only then should you plug the mains cable (4) back into a mains socket.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste materials and must not be disposed of in the household
waste!
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current statutory
requirements.
