BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE
READ ENGINE MANUAL BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE.
1. Remove the oil-fi ll cap and fi ll the crankcase with oil. Use a high quality detergent oil classifi ed ‘For
Service SC,SD,SE or MS. In temperatures above 40 degrees F. (4.4 degrees C) use SAE 30. If not
available, use SAE 10-W.
2. Fill the fuel tank. Use clean, fresh lead-free or regular grade automotive gasoline. Fill tank com-
pletely. DO NOT MIX OIL WITH GASOLINE.

BE CAREFUL NOT TO OVERFILL TANK AS SPILLED GASOLINE CREATES HIGHLY FLAM-
MABLE GAS VAPORS. IF GAS IS SPILLED, WIPE UP SPILLED GAS IMMEDIATELY.

Familiarize yourself with all operating controls. Know how to stop
your mower before starting the engine. Do not engage blade until you are
familiar with all contorls.
