Know Your COSEC PANEL
The COSEC PANEL supports the following options:
• 1 Ethernet communication port
• 1 RS485 communication port
• 5 LEDs. (Fault, Battery Fail, Mains Fail, Alarm, Power)
• 1 Aux Output port
• 1 Aux Input port
The COSEC PANEL Lite model supports only 3 LEDs as compared to 5 on the
PANEL.
The COSEC PANEL communicates with the central COSEC application software
and the connectivity with the application server is accomplished via TCP/IP network
connection. Another key feature of the Matrix COSEC PANEL is its completely
distributed database. All information regarding cards, time zones, relay control and
alarm points are loaded into its memory, enabling the unit to operate independently
of any other equipment.
The PANEL in turn connects downstream to COSEC DOOR Controllers via the
RS485 loop or the TCP/IP network as shown in the figures below. The COSEC
PANEL is designed to operate off-line, making access control decisions
independently from a PC or other controlling device.
