1.7 Manual Override.
Manual override should only be required in one instance. If for some reason the module is set at a baud rate
that cannot be produced by the host system and all communication to the display is lost, then the user
should follow this simple procedure:
1. Download the “Display tuner” application from
www.matrixorbital.com/downloads
.
2. Turn off the display
3. Put a jumper on pins 6 and 7 of the keypad
connector
4. Power up the display. The baud rate is now set to
19,200.
5. Remove the jumper and change the RS-232 port
settings to the desired baud rate. The Display Tuner
can also test the display by adjusting contrast or
brightness and sending text to the display. Save the
settings by checking the boxes next to the slider
bars. The baudrate can be saved by clicking the
“Set” button.
6. Turn off the display.
7. Power up the display.
Refer to the “Set RS-232 Port Speed” command (section
5.1.13) for acceptable baud rates.
