ROLLERBALL DEBURR™ TOOL
USE AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
LIT00732 Rev F
Instructions for setting up the spring loaded upper assembly:
1. Determine the material and application for the deburr tool.
2. Use the attached chart to determine which spring set up might work best for the application, including whether or not
to use the spacer.
3. To change the spring setup, use the 4mm hex wrench to remove the 4 screws from the upper assembly. Install the
correct spring and spacer (if needed).
4.
Lubricate the outside sliding surface of the
Rollerball
housing to reduce friction with ISO grade 68 or SAE 20 or 30
weight oil.
5.
Insert the spacer first (if used), the spring chosen for the application second, and then the
Rollerball.
6. Reattach the cap, re-insert the 4 screws and retighten. Torque: 86 in-lb or 9.7Nm. The 4 screws will pull the unit back
together and place it under the pressure of the compressed springs. The upper is now ready for use.
7.
The die is ready to use as-is, with no springs to change.
8. Lightly oil both the upper and lower
Rollerball
before each use and occasionally during operation with ISO grade 68
or SAE 20-30 weight oil.
Maintenance:
• The
Rollerballs
have limited life, and will eventually need to be replaced. See “Instructions for Setting Up the Spring
Loaded Upper Assembly” for removal of the upper
Rollerball
. Replace it with BTR00004 from Mate Precision
Technologies .
• To replace the
Rollerball
in the die:
1.
Loosen and remove the 4 screws using the 4mm hex wrench. Lift the die plate to remove.
2. Push the
Rollerball
insert up from the bottom and replace with a new BTR00004 from Mate Precision
Technologies .
3. Reinstall the die plate, re-attaching with the 4 screws. Torque: 86 in-lb or 9.7Nm.
4.
Lightly oil the new
Rollerball
before each use and occasionally during operation with ISO grade 68 or SAE 20-30
weight oil.
