OPERATION

SWITCH ON AND OFF (Fig.5)

1.  To turn the angle grinder “ON”,

push in the lock-off button (2)

and press the trigger switch (1).

2.  To turn the tool “OFF,” release

the trigger switch.

  WARNING!

Hold  the  tool  with

both hands while starting the tool, since torque from the motor can cause the

tool to twist. Start the tool before applying it to the workpiece and allow the tool

to come to full speed before contacting the tool to the workpiece. Lift the tool

from the workpiece before releasing the switch. Do not turn the switch “ON”

and “OFF” while the tool is under load, this will greatly decrease the tool life and

cause severe injury.

SELECTING GRINDING WHEELS

 WARNING!

Before using a grinding wheel, be certain that its maximum

safe operating speed is not exceeded by the nameplate speed of the grinder.

Do not exceed the recommended wheel diameter.

DISC GRINDING WHEELS

Grinding wheels should be carefully selected in order to use the grinder most

efficiently. Wheels vary in type of abrasive, bond, hardness, grit size and

structure. The correct type of wheel to use is determined by the job. Use disc

grinding wheels for fast grinding of structural steel, heavy weld beads, steel

casting, stainless steel and other ferrous metals.

GRINDING TIPS (Fig.6)

Efficient grinding is achieved

by controlling the pressure and

keeping the angle between wheel

and workpiece at 10

°

 to 15

°

. If the

wheel is flat, the tool is difficult to

control. If the angle is too steep,

the pressure is concentrated on a

small area causing burning to the

work surface.

LOCK NUT

GRINDING

WHEEL

BACKING

FLANGE

SPINDLE

To attach the wheel guard, DISCONNECT the tool from the power source.

Open guard-release/lock latch and position the guard on the spindle neck so

that the bump guard lines up with the notch on the spindle neck.(Fig.2)

Rotate the guard to the desired position, and close the latch to secure the

guard in place.

NOTE:

If the lock latch does not securely clamp the guard to the spindle

neck, open the latch and tighten the adjustment screw to increase the

clamping tension.

To remove guard:

Open the guard-release/lock latch, rotate the guard until

the bump on the guard lines up with the notches on the spindle neck, and lift

the guard off the spindle neck.

LOCK NUT AND BACKING FLANGE

Your tool is equipped with a

threaded spindle for mounting

accessories. Always use the

supplied lock nut (and backing

flange), which has the same

thread size as the spindle.

SIDE HANDLE (Fig.3)

The side handle used to guide and

balance the tool can be threaded into the front housing on left, right and the

top side of tool. The tool, depending on personal preference and comfort.

Use the side handle for safe control and ease of operation.

DISC GRINDING WHEEL

ASSEMBLY (Fig.4)

Disconnect the tool from the

power source. Be sure that

the wheel guard is in place for

grinding. Place the backing flange

and grinding wheel on the spindle.

Thread on the lock nut and tighten

the nut using the supplied lock-nut wrench, while holding the spindle lock in.

To remove:

 Reverse procedure.
