GENERAL SAFETY RULES
WARNING:
READ ALL INSTRUCTONS. Failure to
follow the SAFETY RULES listed BELOW and other
basic safety precautions may result in serious
personal injury.
1. KEEP GUARDS IN PLACE and in working order.
2. REMOVE ADJUSTING KEYS AND WRENCHES
from the tool before turning it on.
3. KEEP WORK AREA CLEAN. Cluttered areas and
benches cause accidents.
4. DON’T USE THE TOOL IN DANGEROUS
ENVIRONMENTS such as in damp or wet
locations. Keep work area well light.
5. KEEP CHILDREN AND VISITORS AWAY from
the from work area.
6. MAKE WORKSHOP SAFE by using padlocks,
master switches or by removing starter keys from
the tools.
7. DON’T USE THE TOOL for applications other
than those intended.
8. USE ONLY ACCESSORIES AND
ATTACHMENTS intended for the tool.
9. EXTENSION CORDS. When used they must be
in good condition and of a gauge and length
adequate for the current drawn by the tool. An
undersized extension cord will cause poor
performance and overheating. Table 1 shows the
correct size to use depending on cord length and
nameplate ampere rating
10. DON’T WEAR LOOSE COTHING, gloves,
neckties, rings, bracelets and any other items that
can get caught by moving parts. Non-slip
footwear and hair nets for long hair are
recommended.
11. ALWAYS USE SAFETY GLASSES and a face or
dust mask for dusty operations. Prescription
eyeglasses are NOT safety glasses.
12. USE CLAMPS or a portable vise to hold work. It’s
safer to have both hands free to operate the tool.
13. DON’T OVERREACH to keep proper footing and
balance at all times.
14. KEEP THE TOOL IN GOOD WORKING order
through regular inspection and maintenance
15. UNPLUG THE TOOL before servicing and
changing accessories.
16. REDUCE THE RISK OF UNINTENTIONAL
START ups by making sure the switch is in off
position before plugging in the power cord.
17. USE ONLY ORIGINAL REPLACMENT PARTS
18. NEVER STAND ON TOOL as serious personal
injury might occur if the tool tips, causing the user
to fall.
19. DIRECTION OF FEED. Feed work into a blade or
cutter against the direction of rotation of the blade
or cutter only.
20. NEVER LEAVE TOOL RUNNING
UNATTENDED. TURN POWER OFF. Don’t leave
tool until it comes to a complete stop.
SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Inspect your drill press before each Use
.
•
Make sure the On-Off switch is in the OFF
position before plugging the power cord.
•
Unplug the power cord when adjusting, replacing,
drive belts or doing maintenance.
•
Remove the safety key before raising the guard,
changing cutting/drill bits or adjusting the table.
•
Do not operate the tool if there are missing, bent
or broken parts.
•
Do not operate the tool if the switch doesn’t work or
the power cord is damaged in anyway.
•
Unplug the power cord and don’t use the tool until all
the repairs have been completed.
•
When cutting large diameter holes:
Clamp the work piece firmly to the table.
