Warning
When the engine is at operating temperature, the oil can be very hot, be
careful not to burn yourself. Place the motorcycle on a level surface, remove the
cap, then fill the oil tank. Thoroughly clean the cap. The dipstick must be replaced
correctly otherwise it could not work correctly and cause damage to the engine.
Cleaning the housing
• Drain off all the oil.
• Disassemble each part
• Clean each part.
• Fill with the appropriate oil.
• This work can only be done by a professional team, mercinlean your crankcase by
a MASH dealer.
Replacing the oil filter
Remove the oil filter cover. Remove the used oil
filter. Clean the dirty oil before replacing the new
filter.
Valve clearance
Noise may be produced by too much valve clearance. However, if there is no or
even too little play, the valve will not close. This could cause many problems such as
engine stalling, loss of power, etc. It is for this reason that the valve clearance should
be checked regularly. Checking and adjusting the valve clearance should be carried out
with the engine cold and by a MASH dealer.
Note :
Valve clearance has a direct impact on engine performance: its inspection
and adjustment must therefore always be carried out at the intervals indicated in
the Maintenance Table.
As the valve lash increases over time,
engine performance is affected by it
becoming the source of a thumping noise
and interfering with the intake and exhaust
processes. Periodic adjustment, preferably
carried out by professionals with the
appropriate tools, is therefore essential. For
optimum valve clearance, it is recommended
that you consult an authorized MASH dealer.
This adjustment is absolutely necessary on
new two-wheelers at the end of their break-
in period (first 1000 kilometers).
Checking the oil level
Before each use always check the oil level to make sure that the amount of oil is
correct.
- Warm up the engine to operating temperature
- Immobilize the motorcycle by placing it in a vertical position
-Stop the engine
-Check the oil level within a minute
Note : checking the level of the installed dipstick (not screwed in)
