INSTALLING THE SPIKED BUMPER (OPTION)

1. Make sure the chain brake is released.
Refer to “CHAIN BRAKE”.

2. Unscrew the nut and remove the chain case.
Remove the saw chain and guide bar.

3. Remove the screw that attaches the guide plate.
Remove the chain catcher and the guide plate.

4. Screw the spiked bumper onto the engine case with 2

screws and tighten to 300 ~ 400 N•cm (31 ~ 41kgf-cm).

5. Attach the guide plate with the guide plate retaining

screw (M3) and the chain catcher retaining screw (M5).
[Tightening torque]
M3 : 80 ~ 120 N•cm (8.2 ~ 12.2kgf-cm)
M5 : 300 ~ 400N•cm (31 ~ 41kgf-cm)

6. For mounting the guide bar and chain, refer to

“MOUNTING THE GUIDE BAR AND CHAIN”.
