Xirrus WiFi Monitor

The Xirrus Wi-Fi monitor is a Windows desktop gadget offering a “radar" simulated graphic representation of Wi-Fi signals in

proximity of the tablet. This is very useful when connecting to the MLA or MLA System wirelessly and to check how crowded the

Wi-Fi band at the venue is allowing you to make an informed decision on whether to switch to a hard-wired connection if the wi-

fi network is over-crowded.

Files & Utilities

A number of additional files and utilities are installed to optimise the PC performance for running an MLA System.

Power Settings .bat file

This file installs a system power setting optimised for system control, saving power where possible when running from the tablet

battery but without compromising the usability of the PC.

Matlab Components

This application is the base on which Display 2.1 is built and is a powerful high-level language and interactive environment for

complex numerical computation of which Display 2.1 is a typical example. It is proven to be more processor efficient and faster

than similar applications such as C/C++ or Java™. This enables the vast number-crunching required for the EQ optimisations to

be completed in a reasonable time frame, usually no more than around ten minutes for a complex venue and frequently much

quicker.

Java Runtime

Java is used for Vu-Net as it doesn’t require the high-level computational processing but is used to provide an ergonomic and

comprehensive application offering every possible element of control required to run an audio system.

Martin Audio Software Backup

A shortcut to a folder containing a back-up of all installed software is included

Network Information

A shortcut to a text file with system network information is included.

Picostation Configuration

Files are included for configuration of the PicoStation devices used in Mk 1 MLA and MLA Compact systems. These are used both

for DHCP support in the Master rack and as the Wireless Access Point (WAP). Should either of these lose their configuration

Firstly, disable the wireless network adapter on the computer, if you have it, so that the only connection you will use is the RJ45

wired connection.

Standard Configuration

To configure each of the 2 PicoStations you need to load a preset configuration and then change the relevant passwords. A copy

of the settings can be found at the bottom of this document if you want to change them manually.

Connect your computer and a PicoStation to the Ethernet switch

Load up Ubiquiti Discovery software

Press the Scan button to discover the Picostation

Double click on the PicoStation entry
